Azadeh has a broad financing and energy practice and is Head of Energy & Infrastructure Financing.
In the energy and infrastructure space, Azadeh advises clients on a wide range of financing, restructuring, regulatory and M&A mandates with a particular focus on renewables and emerging technologies. She is a member of the firm’s global steering committee for energy and infrastructure, and is a co-chair of WFO’s Interface Risk Floating Offshore Wind Subcommittee.
Azadeh is listed in Legal 500 across a range of areas including Infrastructure: M&A and acquisition financing, Power (incl. electricity and nuclear) as well as Renewables.
Relevant recent experience includes advising:
- Ørsted on multiple offshore windfarm projects and disposals in the UK, Europe and APAC region
- Centrica on its equity and convertible debt investment in Highview Power and project-level debt funding for the Carrington project, one of the largest Liquid Air Energy Storage projects in the world
- Hyphen Hydrogen Energy as lead global counsel on the multi-billion US dollar structuring and development of a vertically integrated large scale green hydrogen and green ammonia production project
- BlackRock Real Assets on a consortium investment in Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, one of the largest renewable energy companies in India
- BlackRock Diversified Infrastructure Funds Group on its investment of up to USD400 million in Positive Zero, a UAE-based decentralised decarbonisation infrastructure business
- a major renewables fund in connection with the restructuring of its portfolio companies focusing on developing solar and battery storage projects
On the financing side, she advises corporate borrowers on all aspects of treasury matters and funds and bank lenders on more highly structured lending transactions, including bespoke NAV facilities.
Azadeh is ranked in Mergerlinks’ list of the Top Ten Financing Lawyers in EMEA 2024. She is also listed as “highly regarded” and “women leaders” in IFLR 1000 for “Banking” and “Capital markets: Structured finance and Securitisation” and is regularly ranked in Legal 500, with clients over the years describing her as “customer-focused and commercial” and “an excellent banking lawyer – one of the best we have ever worked with” and commenting that she “provides practical advice and runs rings around other Magic Circle firms”.
Azadeh is the editor of, and co-author of the UK chapter in, the Law Reviews' The Lending and Secured Finance Review and is also a member of the firm’s opinions committee.
