Saughter and May is advising Centrica on its acquisition of the Severn Power Station

Saughter and May is acting as the lead legal adviser to Centrica plc (“Centrica”) on its acquisition of the Severn combined-cycle gas turbine (“CCGT”) power station (“Severn”) from Calon Energy Group, for approximately £370mn.

Commissioned in Q4 2010 with an operating capacity of 850MW, Severn is one of the most efficient CCGTs in the UK. It is one of a small number of strategic UK CCGTs capable of delivering flexible power generation at scale.

Saughter and May has been working closely with the Centrica legal team, as well as Freeths LLP, co-counsel to Centrica.
